| Birthdate: | 1972-10-12 |
| Location: | Dist. of Columbia, United States |
Name: Emily Prentiss
Age: 37
D.O.B.: 10-12-1972
Primary Residence: Washington D.C.
Hometown: Emily was thisclose to military brattism. She has no hometown. :(
Title: Supervisory Special Agent (SSA)
Skills: Psychological profiling, linguistics, hand to hand combat
Education:
• Garfield High School. Class of 1989.
• Georgetown University, undergrad. Class of 1994.
• Yale University, post-grad. Completed 1997.
Work History:
• Has been with the Bureau going on 13 years. Other than that nfi.
Personality:
Emily grew up in the world of high stakes politics and can play the bureaucracy game with the best of them, despite the fact that she is far from shy about hating all things political. She’s quite passionate in her belief that politics bring out the worst in people, destroy families and one’s own self. It is clear that her less than stellar relationship with her mother plays a fairly large role in how she feels.
That rocky relationship doesn’t stop others from assuming that she has gotten where she has by means of her mother pulling strings, a fact that added to the uphill battle she signed up for the day she joined the bureau, a male dominated organization where more than a few of them are still of the Old Boys Club mentality. It has not been an easy feat to prove that she has earned her place in the bureau, and on occasion she still has to deal with opposition from those who know of her parentage.
She is very goal oriented, having set her sights not just on joining the FBI but making it to prestigious BAU. And though she accomplished this just shy of her 10th year as an agent, she wasn’t long with the unit when a true test of her fortitude came in the form of one of her superiors, Section Chief Erin Strauss. The section chief had arranged for Emily’s transfer, assuming that she would be able to get the younger, eager agent to gather information on Aaron Hotchner.
Playing the woman’s puppet would have surely opened doors within the bureau, allowing Emily to move up the chain of command with ease, a tempting offer for many. However, in an admirable display of loyalty and character, Emily decided to quit her dream job instead of sacrificing her morals. In the end, she managed to keep both her job and her dignity.
A helper by nature, she’s always ready and willing to provide assistance when needed, whether it has been openly asked for or not. At one point she was even prepared to take in a teenager from a case the BAU team was working, the girl having lost her entire family to a pair of unsubs. At her supervisor’s partial reprimand that he needed to know she could be objective she told him simply and respectfully that she needed to know that she could be human.
A bit of an every woman, despite her less than typical upbringing, Emily could easily be the girl next door.
First Impression: Depends on the situation. While working she is ever the professional. Confident and collected. If the meeting is more relaxed one would get the same confidence but with a beguiling undertone of geeky self-awareness.
Physical description: Standing at 5 feet 8 inches, Emily has the posture of a model, most likely the result of an upbringing where appearances were to be kept up at all times. Dark brown hair, almost black, brown eyes. Porcelain skin.
Manner of Dress: Work attire leans toward the professional, tailored but loose-fitting suits, with the odd shirt and jean combo tossed in, usually for field work. Cassual attire consists mostly of t-shirts, blouses and jeans.
Family Situation: Single. Father is an intellectual type. Mother is Ambassador Elizabeth Prentiss. Emily is an only child.
Sexual Orientation: Straight.
